  • Complex to use: takes a fairly long time to learn and adapt to.
  • Requires many resources: must have knowledgeable, capable personnel to look after and manage the system.
  • Long time to implement: installing and adopting the system may take a long time.

Small ERP (Small Business ERP)

Advantages:

  • Cheaper: lower investment cost than a large ERP.
  • Easy to use: has an easy-to-use interface, suitable for small businesses wanting to start using an ERP system.
  • Quick to deploy: can be installed and used quickly.
  • Covers the basics: supports the functionality necessary for a small business, such as customer management, stock management, and accounting management.

Disadvantages:

  • Limited customisation: cannot be customised as much as a large ERP.
  • Supports a limited number of users: suitable for businesses that are small and have few employees.
  • May lack advanced functions: may not have complex functions such as in-depth data analysis.

So which type of ERP should you choose?

Choosing the right ERP depends on many factors, such as:

  • The size and complexity of the business: a large business with complex work processes should choose a large ERP to support diverse operational needs, while a small business may choose a small ERP to save costs.
  • Budget: a large ERP has a higher investment cost than a small ERP, so you should consider the budget you have.
  • Usage needs: consider what functionality you need; each ERP system has different functions.
  • Future growth: if the business is likely to grow in the future, you should choose an ERP that can be expanded.
