Is Thai ERP really cheap, and how to choose a system for the long term?
business
With Thai ERP, many people tend to think it will be cheap and able to do more than a foreign ERP system, which is expensive — and if it has to be adjusted to work as the organisation requires, its price rises in line with the requirements.
Is Thai ERP really cheap?
We must tell you honestly that ERP systems come in different tiers and sizes — Thai ERP systems are no exception, including both small ERP systems and large ERP systems. If you are going to compare prices against a foreign ERP system, you have to take a large Thai ERP system to compare price and functionality, to see how much they differ — over 10 years, how much the cost of each system differs, and which vendor’s functionality best meets the needs.
How do small ERP and large ERP differ?
The size of an ERP system is not measured by file size or how heavy it is on the machine, but by the level of detail and complexity of the operating system. For example, report detail: a small system may display little data, with limitations on the reports and the data shown, and you cannot choose which data to display. A small system is also less complex in operation than a large system, but its interface is easier to use than a large one. Conversely, a large ERP system is harder to use, and its interface is more complex because it has more operational data than a small ERP system.
Even so, a large ERP system is more worthwhile than a small ERP system, because of its comprehensive functionality — and changing to a new system is exhausting; besides spending money, you also waste time.
How should you choose a system for long-term use?
- Choose an ERP system that covers all the work.
- The ERP system must have been developed for no fewer than 10 years.
- Look at reviews from real users whose businesses are consistent with our business.
- Back-office service that is ready to support.
- The system supports Thai tax, so you don’t waste much money and time adjusting the system.
