Interview with a PlanetOne ERP customer: Best-Pac Concrete Co., Ltd.

review

Mr. Manatchai Sakatklang, executive of Best-Pac Concrete Co., Ltd., Nong Bua Lamphu branch

BRID: Could you introduce yourself?

I’m Manatchai Sakatklang, an executive of Best-Pac Concrete Co., Ltd., Nong Bua Lamphu branch. I came into this business in 1996 (B.E. 2539), up to today, in the senior management area.

As for Best-Pac Concrete, it’s a company that produces concrete products and ready-mixed concrete, and we specialise mainly in concrete.

We take customers’ requirements and design and respond to their needs across every product.

We emphasise quality, standards, and on-time delivery.

BRID: What are Best-Pac Concrete’s main products?

Best-Pac’s products consist of piles and floor slabs used generally in construction.

Mainly we’re in the construction industry sector.

Besides piles and floor slabs, we also have bridge decks —

whether Plank-Girder, I-Girder, or Box-Girder for construction work and bridge work, which is the country’s infrastructure work, structural work.

Our service also includes installation. Besides producing, we also handle installation, as well as work design and product-form design, in which we have expertise.

BRID: What were the factors that led you to start looking for an ERP system?

After we’d been in business for a while, we recognised the importance of reducing costs as well as the importance of expanding the work. We saw that we needed tools to help, so that we could manage and make decisions quickly.

So we had the idea of having an ERP system to support our business, which is why we started looking for a partner to develop the system together.

BRID: What was the starting point for implementing PlanetOne ERP?

We saw that as the business began to expand, we needed tools to help, so we started looking for a partner.

We came across BRID, which has the PlanetOne product, an ERP program. We discussed how we needed to prepare in order to use the system.

BRID got involved in preparing to implement the system together.

This included advising on setting up some things we didn’t have, some documents we weren’t yet ready with, as well as training our staff to understand BRID Systems’ ERP.

BRID: How does PlanetOne ERP help your business?

The most important thing for a company that does manufacturing is “cost management.”

Cost management means we have to know whether the costs we’ve incurred are appropriate and correct.

After we started using BRID Systems’ PlanetOne ERP, it helped us analyse cost-related matters and manage costs much more promptly.

We talked with BRID Systems’ implementer team about how we should monitor costs.

We received good advice from BRID Systems, because besides software services, BRID Systems also provides consulting on implementing the system, with an implementer team to help us with this so it matches our needs.

BRID: How many years has Best-Pac Concrete used PlanetOne ERP in total?

We’ve used PlanetOne ERP for over 10 years now, and throughout the time we’ve used it, we’ve always received good advice from BRID Systems on improving and developing the software together.

In addition, after we’d been using it, when new staff joined and got stuck on anything, BRID Systems advised and also trained our new staff.

BRID: From a user’s perspective, what is the strength of PlanetOne ERP?

At the start, when we came to look for a software partner, the thing we always worried about was applying it to match our business or working processes.

After that we came across BRID Systems, which already had the PlanetOne ERP system, and we talked before agreeing to use the software.

Over the time we’ve used the software up to now, BRID Systems has always improved PlanetOne ERP, and this is an advantage of BRID Systems — having a product that can be improved, fixed, and changed to match customers’ needs.

This is one reason we’ve used it for over 10 years.

BRID: What are the factors that make you see an ERP as important for developing the business?

From my perspective, in managing the organisation to keep up with time, the important thing is data that is correct, precise, and fast.

As I’ve said before, I had to look for a partner to work with, because I’ve always believed that software produced has to be customised, so I tried to find software or an organisation that could customise the software to match our needs as closely as possible.

And in the future, the customisation has to be easy, convenient, and fast for decision-making. That’s the reason we chose BRID Systems.

BRID: What has impressed you about PlanetOne ERP?

BRID Systems is committed to adapting itself to be appropriate, to match customers’ needs.

We see BRID Systems as an organisation — especially a Thai organisation — that develops software for Thais. When Thais make it for Thais, it’s easy to communicate.

There may be other software that’s world-class, but we feel that Thai software speaks the same language, which makes it easy to communicate when it comes to customisation.

BRID: Could you offer some advice for those looking for an ERP system to use in their organisation?

For those looking for software or a system to help meet their needs, the most important thing in looking for software, from my perspective, is the matter of working together — between the software itself and the software company itself — on designing, adjusting, and changing it to match our needs.

As well as effective after-sales care — this is the main factor in choosing software to use in the organisation.
