What are the core modules in an ERP system?

blog

An ERP system, or enterprise management system, is a large system with the ability to manage an organisation. It helps increase management efficiency, reduce duplicated work, and help executives make accurate decisions with correct, factual data.

An ERP system consists of many modules, of which there are 8 core modules, as follows:

  1. Purchase Order — the purchasing management system
  2. Sales Order — the sales management system
  3. Shop Floor Control — the production management system
  4. General Ledger — the accounting management system
  5. Inventory — the inventory management system
  6. Accounts Payable — the accounts-payable system
  7. Accounts Receivable — the accounts-receivable system
  8. Materials Requirement Planning — the system that plans raw-material requirements

Each type of business has different needs for using the modules. If you want to know in-depth details, you can consult an ERP implementation consultant you trust.
